Microneedling primarily reduces wrinkles and other age-related blemishes, such as age spots and small areas of sagging skin. However, it also works well on scars, stretch marks, acne and hyperpigmentation problems such as melasma and roseacea. So if you have a mark, or line, that is breaking up your otherwise even skin tone or texture, microneedling treatment can help. Following treatment, you should look healthier and more rested. Also, as it’s a treatment that triggers a body’s natural responses, the restoration will be permanent until the new skin tissue itself begins to age or develop new blemishes. Alternatively, you can opt for RF Microneedling.
Microneedling involves a sterile fine needle tool, known as SkinPen which is the only FDA approved devices. Experienced nurse practitioner, Annie, will use it to apply many pinpricks to the skin, in order to trick it into thinking you’ve damaged the skin in this area. The body then responds to what it believes to be an injury by increasing your collagen levels and increasing the cell regeneration rate to create new skin tissue. This new skin tissue will take the place of the old and you’ll be without the blemishes, large pores, or wrinkles that were bothering you. Your skin tone should be more even. This treatment also has a rejuvenating effect.
Note: SkinPen treatment may only be performed after a face to face consultation. Initial appointments are consultations only. It will then be necessary to return for a separate treatment appointment, as well as a post-treatment follow up.
Aftercare: No make-up for 24 hours post treatment. Apply the recommended moisturiser for 24 hours following treatment. Avoid inflammatory medicines for 2 weeks. Avoid sun exposure and facial procedures for 2 weeks. No alcohol, exercise or saunas.
This varies with different patients and depends on the skin area you’re targeting, but on average the results should be visible after 1 or 2 weeks.

Treatments should be every 4-6 weeks, until you achieve the desired results, but how many sessions you’ll need will depend on what you’re trying to achieve.
